gallery Champagne

Champagne is a sparkling wine that takes its name from theregion of France. Although many people believe that all sparkling wines are champagnes, champagne, by definition, refers exclusively to sparkling wine that comes from the Champagne region. Further, in order to make champagne (and not just sparkling wine), winemakers must follow certain rules that dictate every step of production from grape growth to fermentation.

Glasses of bubbly!

Champagne is most often consumed chilled in a champagne flute, a long and slim glass designed to keep the drink bubbly. Additionally, champagne (or other sparkling wines) can be found in popular cocktails such as Mimosa and French 75.

As far as alcohol strength goes, most champagne contains about 12% alcohol by volume.
